Magic Jigsaw Puzzles and World Vision stand up for Texas and Louisiana in desire to help those who suffered from Hurricane Harvey — a massive tropical storm that already caused unprecedented flooding and landfall, destroyed many houses, left more than 30 people dead and more than 30,000 displaced.
The whole world is terrified by the massive destruction brought by Hurricane Harvey. Harvey, first starting as a slow-moving tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico on 18 August, grew into a Category 4 hurricane, with sustained winds of up to 130 mph and heavy rainfall and massive landfall across south central Texas.
By 27 August the storm dumped a year’s worth of rain in less than a week on Houston and much of southeastern Texas. Houston and the surrounding areas suffered from nearly 52 inches of rain in four days — Harvey is on pace to surpass the USA single-storm rainfall record of 52 inches, which was measured during Hurricane Hiki in Kauai in 1950.
Harvey made landfall again on 30 August over Port Arthur, Texas and Western Louisiana , bringing widespread catastrophic flooding. With more heavy rain expected to drench the region in the coming days, the National Weather Service reports that «This event is unprecedented and all impacts are unknown and beyond anything experienced.»
